Call Centre for B&Q, Fareham In 2000, D&M Electrical Ltd. provided design and installation of lighting, power, electrical distribution, emergency lighting and fire alarms to provide for a new call centre for B&Q PLC. To cater for the additional load envisaged for the new use of the building, the distribution was completely remodelled, and the power supply upgraded with a new 500kva transformer from Southern Electric. The power distribution to the IT equipment is fed via a 95 kva uninteruptable power supply with a 500 kva standby generator. The power distribution boards feed recessed floor boxes which also contain structured cabling outlets via an underfloor busbar system. A new Menvier analogue-addressable fire alarm system with automatic smoke detection has been installed to replace the old separate systems, and has been interfaced with a neighbouring building. Lighting was upgraded to comply with CIBSE LG3, and the emergency lighting to BS 5266. Externally, the car park lighting was upgraded to provide better security. |
